Exeter cathedral 3

I think a snap taken from inside the Lady Chapel, facing roughly southeast. No bar to camera work in this cathedral, which was fine this early Saturday morning. I could click away without being irritated by the clicking & flashing of others, our having the cathedral pretty much to ourselves, apart from the trusties.

Small organ bottom left (the main organ being a very impressive beast, with impressive sound, there being some practice going on), interesting & successful restoration of paintwork top right and large size memento - more properly memorial - bottom right. Sarcophagus below, off picture; probably a bishop, possibly also a saint.

Click to enlarge to get a better view of the heavenly livestock flying around the frieze.

PS: the main organ was so main, that despite having a large & handsome pipe case on top of the rood screen, had some exceptionally large pipes arranged along the west wall of the south transept. Must have been twenty feet high or more.
