Waitrose grub generally rather superior to that from Sainsbury's, taste the difference or otherwise. However, I learned yesterday that their ordinary white bread - large split tin sort of thing - is slightly worse than that from Sainsbury's (Kiln Lane variety). Looks OK but a bit doughy inside and with both taste and texture both a bit null compared with my own production, my own white bread being nothing much like what I was aiming for notwithstanding.
Maybe they put all their TLC into their higher grade, foreign styled bread. Coincidentally, premium price.
