Chain saw action

Easter is coming and the chain saws are getting hat.

Or at least the Volunteers have sprung or have been prodded into action again, with large amounts of chain saw action along the fringes of Epsom Common, where it meets the B280, aka Christchurch Road.

I can't see any herito or eco point, so I suppose the point is to have tidy verges - but this voter for one wishes that they wouldn't. Let's leave well along and enjoy the common in a less manicured, more natural condition. Or should I say more organic condition?

Spend all the money that has been spent on chain saws on lifting the pay and conditions of our council care workers above the levels of those of box store shelf stackers. Every little helps as they say at Tesco's. Or raising the game of the council grass cutting operation - that is to say to stop trying to strim young trees down, strimming spring bulbs and scalping the odd bumps. Or being a bit more energetic about clearing the litter on Horton Lane and down the Longmead Road.
