Workmanship

A recently spotted hole in Horton Lane, powered by British Power Networks. Very feebly propped open by some plastic extrusions, not intended for any such purpose.

Where were the boards, stretchers and wedges needed to do the job properly?

Having got suitably irritated, in proper retired of Epsom style, I thought that maybe a tired repair team had been called out in the middle of a cold & wet night to restore power to the houses thereabouts. Maybe propping the hole open properly had not been uppermost in their minds.

But maybe also, management should think to include some basic timber necessaries as part of the kit issued to teams sent out on such missions. They could always add a roof rack to their vans, like proper white van men.
