Rolling wheat

The rolling wheat mentioned in the last post started right outside the back door, this last being a proper two part cottage back door, with a top flap and a bottom flap. Handy for chucking out bread for the chickens in the morning.

The back door got you into the single storey extension, just visible at the bottom right of the snap left, maybe ten feet by four, tacked onto the back of the original cottage at some point, and which contained the kitchen and bathroom facilities. Facilities which included a very good hot water heater as there were no waits or shortages in that department.

PS: this snap was one of 680 over the week, an average of around 100 a day if we allow half a day each for the two travelling days. Reflecting my practice of taking half a dozen or more of each subject, in the hope that one turns out OK. The more or less zero marginal cost of a snap being one of the many advantages of a digital camera - an advantage which FIL never really got into, having got into the mindset, as a child with a Box Brownie, that buying and developing film was expensive,. Every snap had to count.
