Reading list

A Facebook friend directed my attention to http://riverdalecoc-507warrior.org/, where I found the spreadsheet illustrated.

I have not checked properly, but it appears to offer a reading list which will get you through the whole of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible in a year. With someone having given some thought to the order in which one should take things.

Furthermore, taking a leaf out of my own book, the reading list is offered in the form of an Excel spreadsheet which you can download.

So you can then work out some way of recording your experience, some way which works for you, with Excel being a very flexible and powerful tool, just the thing for such a job. One might, for example, add comments to the cells of the spreadsheet as one went along. Alternatively, one might create new worksheets, one for each month of the year, worksheets which one could use to keep a diary. One could even take the spreadsheet to the next level, building in links to some approved, online version of the Bible. One could then load the spreadsheet onto one's mobile phone and be fully equipped for life wherever one might be. Maybe one could do something with the people at https://www.bible.com/.

PS: I notice that one of the preachers at Riverdale, Andrew Green, just two months older than me, put in 36 years with General Motors before moving to full time ministry. So not unlike our own Church of England, where a noticeable number of the priests are  making a second rather than a first career out of it.
