Observations

Three observations on yesterday's news, as it comes to us in the Guardian.

First, for once I agree with the railway union, that is to say with their charge that 24 hour opening of the London Underground is just another mayoral vanity project, and a not very well thought through one at that.

Second, I wonder whether all the money which is going to be spent on the affairs of a 10 year dead prime minister will represent value for money. I dare say the lawyers are going to do well enough out of it, but what about the public at large?

Third, I was interested to read of the huge amount of aerial needling that goes on between Greece and Turkey - far worse than that that goes on between, say, Russia and NATO. And Greece wants to be treated as a grown up country?
