Longmead fall

Not Longmead House, that well-known former palace in the heart of Surrey, now in the hands of the National Trust, rather Longmead Road with light industry down one side, a stream (sometimes containing shopping trolleys) down the middle and social housing down the other. Or at least what remains of the post-war social housing estate after the great Thatcher give-away. If you look very carefully (click to enlarge) I think you can just about make out some of the fencing for the light industry.

Next time I visit this tree I must take a closer look at what appears to be a rather battered trunk. What has been eating it?

This particular Horton Clockwise also took in a regular horde of grey squirrels running around outside Horton Park Golf Club (the place which does jungle adventure golf), one of which even managed to run under a moving car and come out the other side unscathed.

And a flock of rather noisy starlings in the top of a tree overlooking the orange bacon sandwich dispenser, just about visible from google sky at reference 51.344794, -0.263215, just underneath the 'y' of Roy Richmond. Much more visible in streetview.
