Aeroplanes

Had another go at Clapham Junction this afternoon at around 1630. Much better than the last duff effort, scoring several two's. Part of success was moving further north up platform 11, thus opening up a view between a hoarding and a building, down to a decently low western horizon. Planes were quite frequent, if not up to the steady every two minutes that one can expect during the evening rush hour (at Heathrow that is, not at Clapham Junction). Eastern sky rather obscured by a lot of low cloud which mean that planes did not appear until they were near overhead. Western sky partially obscured, so planes were lost for a while, to reappear well down towards the horizon. I think that without cloud I would have made four, no question.

I ought to mention a similar sort of game called bumps that we play at the Kent Road car park at Kingston (upon Thames). A bit like golf with 18 ramps altogether, 9 out and 9 in, usually after lunch. The ramps are rather narrow and the idea is to see how few one can bump with the off side back tyre. Quite difficult as the ramps were built on the cheap, quite narrow for the modern car and my aggregate score is usually at least 5, with BH typically doing rather better, giving the lie to the theory that ladies have poor spatial perception.
