Winteriese

A stroll to the large stew pond on Epsom Common, not as frozen as the small one which seemed to be emitting odd creaking noises. Rather as if someone was skimming lumps of ice across it - except that there was no-one else to be seen. And no herons were to be seen on the large pond and we wondered whether they hoof it, or perhaps flap it, south for the winter, not being well adapted for a veggie diet.

The picture makes it look rather darker than it really was, something I have noticed that the new Lumia seems to do in this sort of wintery light. Maybe one day I will investigate.
