Some damage to the grass along Longmead Road, for once not caused by a heavy lorry mounting the kerb for some reason or other.
But what did cause it? A four wheeled vehicle appears to have entered from the right, off picture, and ultimately stopped some feet short of the edge of the grass on the left. Judging by the scorch marks, some sort of large fire in the middle, from which we have mixed debris including a small amount of broken glass.
Nothing like enough debris for a whole vehicle, even a small one, to have been torched.
Noon seemed a bit early in the day for the men from the council to have removed any large debris.
So how did the vehicle get off the grass under its own steam without leaving more traces?
Perhaps a more careful look at the debris is called for on my next visit.
