First frost of the new season last night. Not off the lawn at 0730 and plenty of condensation on the inside of the extension bay - despite its double glazing.
I associate to the rather different patterns one used to get on the windows of florists and butchers, of frost rather than condensation. Florists' patterns florid, butchers' patterns more angular, more like the crystals which show up, for example, on things like galvanised buckets. And then to the Russians who, more than a hundred years ago, used to look for the origin of life in the patterns you get in organically polluted crystals, like, that is, the frost in butchers' shops.
